Otters Sell Two To Major Leage Clubs

November 4, 2009 - Frontier League (FL) Evansville Otters

The Evansville Otters have sold two midseason additions to last years team, outfielder Cameron Satterwhite and pitcher Ben Paxton, to major league organizations.

The Cincinnati Reds have purchased the contract of Satterwhite, who hit with 15 RBIs in 34 games with Evansville in 2009. A Cincinnati native, Satterwhite began his collegiate career at Indiana University before transferring to the University of Cincinnati, where he was a third-team All-Big East choice as a junior in 2008.

Paxton, a Western Kentucky University graduate, joins the Houston Astros. He was 1-1 with four saves in 27 relief appearances for the Otters in 2009. Paxton posted a 1.12 ERA in 40.1 innings pitched. Baseball America named the St. Albans, W.Va., native the fourth best prospect in independent baseball last month.
