D-League's Bakersfield Jam Open Tryouts October 24-25

BAKERSFIELD - The Bakersfield Jam, an NBA Development League team affiliated with the NBA's Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Clippers are holding an open tryout this weekend, October 24 and 25 at the HAX facility in Hawthorne, CA from 8:00 am to 12:00pm and from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Saturday (player check-in begins at 7:00am on Saturday). Tryouts will take place on Sunday from 9:00am to 11:00am

Open tryouts offer up-and-coming athletes the opportunity to showcase their basketball skills in front of the Jam's coaching staff led by new head coach Will Voigt. NBA Personnel will be in attendance including former NBA star, and current LA Clippers Assistant, John Lucas, and former NBA players Sean Rooks and Olden Polynice. Players will compete to earn an invitation to the Jam's training camp in November.

Applicants must be eligible to play in the NBA Development League and may pre-register by submitting the official registration, disclosure, and release forms, along with a $150 fee. The fee increases to $200 on the day of camp. Payments may be made by cash, money order or cashier's check. Registration forms can be found online at www.bakersfieldjam.com.

* ($150 pre-registration fee arriving at Bakersfield Jam offices no later than 5pm on Friday, October 23); $200 for day-of registration. Cash, Money Order or Cashier's Check only.

* Location: HAX facility located at 3203 Jack Northrop Ave. in Hawthorne, CA.

* Tryouts will be held from 8am to 12pm and from 5pm to 8pm on Saturday. Tryouts will take place on Sunday from 9am to 11am.

* Lodging: Ayres Hotel Hawthorne/Manhattan Beach/LAX located at 14400 Hindry Avenue, Hawthorne, CA (310-220-6447 or 310-570-9157 - ask for Lori Higgins). Rate is $99 a night, use group code BKRJAM when reserving your room. Stay includes breakfast.
