Idaho Steelheads News Release

(Boise, ID) - Mark McCutcheon, a 25-year-old forward, has agreed to terms with the ECHL's Idaho Steelheads.

Head coach Derek Laxdal announced the move Friday morning.

McCutcheon played briefly in the ECHL last season for the Johnstown Chiefs but most of his professional experience is in the American Hockey League, hockey's highest level of minor-league play. In 65 games with the Lake Erie Monsters last year, the Ithaca (NY) native scored six goals and picked up 11 assists. He has 143 penalty minutes in 128 AHL games.

McCutcheon will be joined in training camp by college teammate Evan Barlow. The pair played together at Cornell. His father, Brian McCutcheon, is an assistant coach for the NHL's Buffalo Sabres.

The Steelheads play a pair of exhibition games this weekend against the Utah Grizzlies. Friday night, the two teams meet at the Eccles Ice Center in Logan, UT. Saturday night, the two teams will meet at the Manchester Ice and Events Centre in McCall. Tickets are available at the Centre or by calling 208.634.3570.

Note: The Steelheads unveiled a revamped website Friday morning at www.idahosteelheads.com . The site has an all new look but still remains the home for information on the players, games, promotions, and tickets for the upcoming season.

Season-ticket packages for the 2009-2010 season remain available, starting at $450 per seat for all 36 home games. Partial-season plans begin at just $150 per seat. New this season is the all-inclusive "Gold Membership." Contact the Steelheads front office at 208.383.0080 or log on to www.idahosteelheads.com for more information.
