Columbus Cottonmouths News Release

The Columbus Cottonmouths have added three more players to their training camp roster, including former Huntsville defenseman Tim Hockley, and rookies Nicolas Boucher and Kevin Kozlowski.

Hockley comes to the Snakes after three seasons with the rival Huntsville Havoc. From 2006-09, the Collingwood, Ontario native picked up 52 points and 338 penalty minutes in 163 games with Huntsville. In three seasons combined, Hockley compiled a +18 rating.

"I was fortunate to watch Tim play the last three years in Huntsville," head coach Jerome Bechard said. "He's a big man, plays big in front of the net and makes people pay the price. He is more of a stay-at-home defenseman, but with his good hands and a heavy shot, he also has the ability to chip in a few points."

Boucher comes to Columbus after three seasons with the St. Felicien Multiconcessionaire of the Quebec Junior A Hockey League. From 2005-2008, he picked up 133 points in 119 games. Last season, the 5'8" forward played for the Thetford Mines Isothermic of the LNAH. This is his first professional season.

Kozlowski, a rookie from Lockport, NY, joins the Snakes after two seasons with the Buffalo State Bengals (2007-09). While there, the 5'9" defenseman picked up 15 points in 30 games. His first two collegiate seasons were spent with Canisius College, where he registered two points in 30 games. Kozlowski had a brief stint last season with the now-defunct Richmond Renegades of the SPHL, playing two games and recording no stats.

"(Former Snakes goaltender) Frankie Ouellette called me about Boucher early last spring and described him as a little pitbull," Bechard said. "I put him in the category of a (former Knoxville defenseman) Mike Craigen-type player. Kozlowski is more of an offensive-minded defenseman, which is hard to find. He's not the biggest of stature, but his skating and playmaking will compensate for his size."

A total of 20 players have been invited to camp thus far for the 2009-10 season. The final roster will narrowed to 18 players by opening night, Friday, Oct. 23 vs. the Fayetteville FireAntz. Season tickets that have been paid in-full or put on our payment plan may be picked up beginning Monday, Oct. 5. Individual game tickets and exhibition game tickets also go on sale Monday.
