CARSON, Calif. (Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009) - Chivas USA midfielder Bojan Stepanovic suffered a dislocated patella in his right knee during Wednesday night's match against Chivas de Guadalajara, and is expected to miss 4-6 weeks while recovering from the injury. Stepanovic, 26, is in his first season in Major League Soccer, and has a goal and two assists in 16 matches (7 starts) with Chivas USA.
Chivas USA also announced today that forward Ante Razov has undergone successful surgery on his left ankle. The procedure, a repair of the Achilles tendon and removal of bone spurs, was performed on Wednesday by Team Doctors Michael Gerhardt MD and Bert Mandelbaum MD at the Santa Monica Orthopedic Group facility in Santa Monica, Calif. Razov, who was already on the team's Disabled List due to the injury, is expected to miss up to 4-6 months while recovering from the surgery.
