
G-Braves Kick Off Four-Game Homestand Saturday

The Gwinnett Braves will host a supply drive for the troops on Saturday, August 22 in conjunction with the team's contest vs. the Charlotte Knights (Chicago White Sox) at 7:05 p.m. Volunteers will collect the items outside of the stadium's main entrance. Fans that bring in an item will receive a 2009 Inaugural Team Poster (while supplies last). Items requested include:
Sun Tan Lotion Baby Wipes Waterless Hand Cleanser
Packs of Tissues
Envelopes, Cards and Stationary Pens
Pre-Paid Phone Cards
Trail Mix or Nuts of Any Kind
Tuna Fish in Pouches
Hard Crackers Crystal Light On-the-Go Pouches
M&M's
In addition to the supply drive for the troops, the Spitball Gang (spitballgang.com) will also perform. The Spitball Gang is an entertaining group of inflatable mascots, named Louie, Spitball, Slugger and Catch, with a baseball theme. The Gwinnett Choral Guild is the 50/50 raffle group of the night.
Saturday's game is presented by Georgia Gwinnett College. A limited number of lawn seats are still available for Saturday's game, so fans are encouraged to pre-purchase tickets to ensure they do not miss any of the action.
Sunday, August 23 - Charlotte Knights vs. Gwinnett Braves, 2:00 p.m.
- Hall of Fame Induction - Harry Walker will be formally inducted into the International League Hall of Fame in a pre-game ceremony. In 1940 Harry "The Hat" Walker made a brief stop in Rochester. Twelve years later at the tail-end of his playing career he returned as the team's player/ manager, leading the Red Wings to the 1952 Governors' Cup and Junior World Series titles. Rochester won the pennant the following season, a year which included a franchise record 19-game winning streak. The Pascagoula, MS native went on to manage in the big leagues before winning another IL pennant in 1964 with Jacksonville. Walker was inducted into the Red Wings Hall of Fame in 1989.
- RaceTrac Race Around the Bases - Fans 12 and under are invited to run the bases following the game. Chopper's Clubhouse members have a VIP line for the run.
- Chick-fil-A Family Toss - Families are invited to play catch in the outfield following the game.

- McAfee Childhood Cancer Foundation - In anticipation of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month (September), the G-Braves will host the McAfee Childhood Cancer Foundation. Visit supportcancerkids.org for more information and for the non-profit's upcoming events.
- 50/50 Raffle - Volunteers from the American Diabetes Association will sell 50/50 Raffle Tickets. One lucky fan will go home with half of the pot, with the other half going to the American Diabetes Association and the Braves Foundation
Monday, August 24 - Charlotte Knights vs. Gwinnett Braves, 6:00 p.m. (Doubleheader)
- Lets Play Two - On Monday the G-Braves will play a single admission doubleheader consisting of two, seven inning games.
- 680 The Fan Monday - The 680 The Fan promotions team will be set up on the stadium plaza passing out prizes.
- Gwinnett Chamber - The Gwinnett Chamber is the proud sponsor of the G-Braves doubleheader.
- Chick-fil-A - Chick-fil-A will award their yearly scholarships during a pre-game ceremony.
- Gwinnett Braves Band of the Year - South 70 is the Gwinnett Braves Band of the Year. The group will perform in the concourse following the first game and again at Wild Bill's in Duluth on Friday, September 11.
Individual tickets for Round One of the 2009 Governors' Cup playoffs will go on sale Tuesday, September 1 at 10:00 a.m. Playoff tickets and Gwinnett Braves 2009 regular season individual tickets, starting as low as $5, are available at gwinnettbraves.com, the Gwinnett Stadium Box Office, all TicketMaster outlets, and by calling 1-800-745-3000.
