
Vipers Announce Preliminary RGV Rocket Launch Schedule

MCALLEN, TEXAS - The NBA D-League Rio Grande Valley Vipers announced today that RGV Rocket Launch, the festival surrounding Houston Rockets training camp, will begin at the McAllen Convention Center on October 3 at 7:00 a.m. with a 3-On-3 Basketball Tournament and run through October 5 at 8:00 p.m.
RGV Rocket Launch will feature two open Rockets practices for Vipers season ticket holders as well as two exclusive Rockets autograph sessions.
In addition to the 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament, day one will feature an NBA Live 2010 gaming tournament and auditions for the Fan Spirit Section.
On October 4, Hall-of-Fame Rockets mascot Clutch the Bear and the Rockets Power Dancers will be introduced, followed shortly afterwards by the 2009-10 Snake Charmers. There will also be a Battle of the High School Bands to determine the official band of the Vipers. The winning band will get to perform at the Rockets-Boston Celtics game on October 7 at Dodge Arena.
On October 5, there will be a Legends Golf Tournament, community appearances by the Rockets, and a youth basketball program. The Vipers will also unveil their brand new uniforms for the 2009-10 season.
There will be multiple appearances by Rockets players during RGV Rocket Launch.

The Rio Grande Valley Vipers are a professional basketball team in the NBA Development League (NBA D-League). The NBA Development League, founded in 2001, is the NBA's official minor league whose teams have direct affiliations to NBA franchises.
