Stone Crabs Employee Awarded Florida State League/Florida Marlins Scholarship

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - The Charlotte Stone Crabs are proud to announce that the Florida State League Scholarship Committee recently selected Stone Crabs sales and marketing intern Lydia Mikha Tan as one of 12 recipients of the 10th Annual Florida Marlins/Florida State League $1,500 scholarship award.

"We're very happy for Mikha and thankful to the league and the Florida Marlins for this scholarship program," said Stone Crabs general manager Joe Hart. "Mikha has done a great job for us, and we're glad she'll have this financial boost to help her finish her education."

Tan will be a guest of the Florida Marlins in a ceremony before their game against the San Diego Padres on Sunday, August 30th.

The scholarship is available to any full-time staff member, staff member family, interns or seasonal staff, and the student must have a GPA of 3.00 or better. Tan was the Stone Crabs representative for the award and was one of 12 recipients around the league. The purpose of the scholarship program is to encourage and reward school age employees and to send a message that Education is key to success in life.
