JUPITER, FL- The Jupiter Hammerheads (20-26) beat the Sarasota Reds (17-27) by a score of 4-3 tonight at Roger Dean Stadium to extend their winning streak to five games. Center fielder Gregory Burns scored the go-ahead run in the seventh inning on a passed ball by catcher Kyle Day. Burns finished the night with three walks and a stolen base (34). Steve Cishek (3-4) pitched two scoreless innings in relief to record his third win of the season. Starter Brett Harker (ND) went six innings and allowed three runs on eight hits and struck out one. Kris Harvey pitched a perfect ninth to nail down his first save of 2009. Left fielder Jeremy Synan drove in two runs for the second consecutive night on a double (2) in the first inning off of Alexander Smit (ND). Second baseman Ryan Curry finished 2-for-4 with a run scored while Tim Torres tripled for the first time as a Hammerhead. Jupiter executed with runners in scoring position and finished 3-for-8 (.375). The two teams continue their three-game series tomorrow at Roger Dean Stadium. Jose Rosario will look to extend Jupiter's winning streak to six games as he is scheduled to start tomorrow's contest. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
