DENVER - Major League Lacrosse (MLL) announced its weekly award winners today, according to MLL Commissioner David Gross. Denver Outlaws midfielder Max Seibald (Cornell University) earned his first Cascade Rookie of the Week award after breaking the fastest shot record at the All-Star competition on Thursday in Denver. Taking the Offensive Player of the Week award was Boston Cannons' attack Ryan Boyle and the league's Defensive Player of the Week award went to Toronto Nationals' midfielder Geoff Snider.

Seibald played a key role in the Outlaws' 11-8 road victory over the Washington. In the battle, Seibald scored a vital short-handed goal in the third quarter that eventually led not only to the victory, but Denver's fourth consecutive playoff berth in the New Balance Major League Lacrosse Championship Weekend. The rookie midfielder then scored a second goal in the final minutes of the fourth quarter, sealing the Outlaws' victory.

While playing for the Outlaws Seibald has seven one-point goals, two 2-point goals off of 26 overall shots (.231 shooting percentage) with one assist for a total of 12 points in seven games. He has also picked-up 17 ground balls.

The Cornell grad can add the Cascade Rookie of the Week to his numerous college accolades. Seibald led his team to its first national title game since 1988 this season, earning his second bid as a Tewaaraton Trophy finalist along the way. The Big Red standout was also named a First-Team All-American this year and is the first ever player to be named to the All-Ivy First Team each of his four years in college. Seibald recorded 28 goals and 10 assists as a senior.
