Worcester Tornadoes News Release

WORCESTER, MA--- After a dramatic tenth inning victory last evening, the Tornadoes ran into a left handed buzz-saw wearing a Jackal uniform named AJ Wideman (4-0). Wideman was great through eight, striking out six and receiving his fourth win to remain unbeaten on the season. The scoring came early for New Jersey who could only muster three hits all last night. Lobban who drops to 4-2 throwing five innings and allowing five runs (three earned) in the loss. Worcester errors continue to plague the black and orange. Three more this evening opened the door for two unearned New Jersey runs.

Jackal first baseman Juan Tejeda added to the lead when he picked up a pair of RBI's on a two run single in the third, and another with a sacrifice fly in the fifth to close the scoring for NJ. Worcester's only run came on a solo home run from Carlos Sosa (3), a towering blast in the eighth. The Tornadoes still have a chance to take this first home series against the Jackals tomorrow on Tykes Club Sunday, Alex Pena (2-3) for Worcester opposes Ted Serro (4-1) for New Jersey. First pitch at 2:05pm, pre-game on AM580 FM94.9 WTAG at 1:50.
