
Duffy to Play in Futures Game

Burlington, IA (June 29, 2009) - Former Bees Pitcher Danny Duffy will represent the Royals in the Major League All-Star Futures Game to be held on July 12th in St. Louis, it was announced recently. The game will start at 1:00 and can be seen live on ESPN2.
Duffy, 20, was taken by the Royals in the 3rd Round of the 2007 draft out of Lompoc, California. He helped lead the Bees to the 2008 Midwest League Championship. In his last 11 starts in '08, Duffy went 6-1 with a 0.99 ERA. Pitching this season for Class A Wilmington, Duffy has a 6-2 record and a 2.85 ERA in 13 starts. He was one of the Blue Rocks' players in the California-Carolina League All-Star Game recently and pitched one scoreless inning.
The 11th annual Futures Game features top minor league prospects from the United States and the World. Duffy will play for the American team. For more information log onto www.mlb.com.
