P.K. Subban Signs Contract with Montreal Canadiens

Belleville Bulls defenceman P.K. Subban has signed a three year entry level contract with the Montreal Canadiens. Subban was selected in the second round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft by Montreal. As per club policy, financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Subban has spent the past four seasons with Belleville becoming the most prolific offensive defenceman in franchise history. The Rexdale, Ontario native holds the Bulls club record for most career goals and points in both the regular season and playoffs. In 234 regular season games with Belleville, Subban recorded 42 goals and 149 assists along with 16 goals and 51 points in 56 playoff games.

This past season, Subban led all Bulls defenders in scoring for a third consecutive season, as he recorded 14 goals and 62 assists in 56 games played while also posting a team leading +47 rating. He then added three goals and 15 points in 17 playoff games. Following the season, Subban was named to the OHL All-Star First Team and was the runner-up in voting for the OHL's Most Outstanding Defenceman.

Subban won Gold Medals with Team Canada at the past two World Junior Hockey Championships and also participated in the OHL All-Star Classic and the ADT Canada-Russia Challenge in each of past two seasons.
