Masterson and Bowden strike out 14

Starting RHP Justin Masterson was masterful in the PawSox 4-1 victory over the Louisville Bats Thursday afternoon. In Masterson's first start with the PawSox, he allowed 4 hits, walked two and struck out 6 batters, producing the win. Michael Bowden also had an impressive afternoon; he entered the game in the 6th and threw 4 brilliant innings, striking out 8 batters to earn the save.

Left fielder Zach Daeges put the PawSox on the board with an RBI single in the 2nd inning scoring DH Rocco Baldelli, who had doubled. Daeges then added another RBI single in the 4th inning. RF Bubba Bell had an RBI single in the 5th inning and scored on a RBI sacrifice fly by SS Ivan Ochoa.

The PawSox (4-4) have Friday afternoon off, but will pick up the action on March 28 against the Rochester Red Wings at 1:00pm.
