Blues Recall Tyson Strachan

Peoria, Ill. (December 16, 2008) - St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today the club has recalled defenseman Tyson Strachan under emergency conditions from the Blues' American Hockey League affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen.

Strachan, 24, skated in two preseason games for the Blues this season, registering one assist, two penalty minutes and a plus-3 rating. The 6-1, 212-pound defenseman has played in 28 games for the Rivermen this season, recording four points (two goals, two assists) and 65 penalty minutes.

The Melfort, Saskatchewan native was originally drafted by Carolina in the fifth round, 137th overall in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

The Rivermen will be back at Carver Arena on December 19 to take on the Iowa Chops at 7:00 p.m. It is WWE Legends Night as Jerry "The King" Lawler, "Hacksaw" Jim Dugan and Koko B.
