FLINT, MI - The Port Huron Icehawks scored four unanswered goals on Saturday to defeat the Flint Generals 4-1 at Perani Arena.

The hot Icehawks are now riding a five game road winning streak and have won eight of their last ten games. The win comes a night after Port Huron blanked the Fort Wayne Komets 1-0 at Memorial Coliseum for their second shutout of the season.

The Icehawks took an early lead with a Derek Patrosso goal at 4:24 in the first period and never relinquished it. Joel Gasper scored on an assist from Patrosso just prior to the midway mark in the second period to make it a 2-0 game. In the third, special teams were key as Tab Lardner and Jamie Carroll both notched power play goals just under four minutes apart to put the game away.

The Generals peppered 15 shots at Icehawks goalie Larry Sterling in the third period but just one found the back of the net. Kyle Deck scored at 10:26 to put the Generals on the board and spoil the Icehawks bid for back-to-back shutouts.

The Icehawks were outshot 34-27 in the victory. Sterling turned in a strong performance and stopped 33 of 34 shots he faced. Flint goalie Chad Alban took the loss with 23 saves on 27 shots.

The Icehawks were 2-5 on the power play, while the Generals were 0-5 with the man advantage. For the game sheet: http://www.pointstreak.com/prostats/gamesheet_full.html?gameid=734684.
