PLYMOUTH - Jordan Nolan's goal at 3:09 of overtime gave the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds a come-from-behind 5-4 victory over the Plymouth Whalers in an Ontario Hockey League game played Saturday night at Compuware Arena.

Sault Ste. Marie is now 12-10-1-0; Plymouth is 7-12-3-0.

Plymouth snapped a 2-2 tie after forty minutes with two early goals in the third period only to see the Soo tie the game with a pair of goals in the final 1:24 of regulation and then win the game in overtime.

Beau Schmitz (2nd), Tyler Seguin (3rd), Kaine Geldart (7th) and Patrick Lee (3rd) scored for Plymouth. Besides Nolan's game winner (7th), Matt Lyall (11th), Dylan King (2nd), Anthony Peluso (4th) and Cameron Odam (1st) scored for Sault Ste. Marie.

Schmitz scored the only goal in the first period at 15:59 when he tucked a rising shot from the right circle past Soo goaltender Bryce O'Hagan and under the cross bar. Seguin gave Plymouth a 2-0 lead at 10:35 of the second period with a quick one-timer from the high slot. But the Soo came back to tie on Peluso's blast from the right circle at 14:05 and Odam's shot from the left point at 18:35.

The Whalers rebuilt a two-goal lead on Geldart's tip from the left wing lip of the Soo crease off Josh Bemis' shot from the top of the right circle at 4:15 and Lee's shot from the left circle at 6:11. The ‘Hounds tied the game late in the period on Lyall's well-placed shot from the right circle that pinged off the inside of the far post at 18:36 and King's equalizer on a scramble in from of the Plymouth net with 0:30 remaining in regulation after Soo Head Coach Denny Lambert pulled O'Hagan for the extra attacker.

That set the stage for Nolan's game-winner, when he accepted Matt Caria's pass from the left circle in the Plymouth zone and wristed a quick-one timer from the left hashmark past Plymouth goaltender Jeremy Smith.

Plymouth outshot the Soo, 39-31.

The Whalers are back in action next Wednesday against Windsor at 7:05 pm at Compuware Arena. Tickets are available by calling the Compuware Arena box office at (734) 453-8400.
