Rods Announce First Radio Broadcaster

RODS ANNOUNCE FIRST RADIO BROADCASTER(Bowling Green, KY) - The Bowling Green Hot Rods, Single-A affiliate for the Tampa Bay Rays, are excited to announce the hiring of their radio broadcaster for the 2009 season. Tom Gauthier will serve as 'The Voice of the Hot Rods' on 1340 WBGN, The Ticket. Hot Rods games can also be heard on the internet, through the team's website at www.bghotrods.com.

Gauthier comes to Bowling Green with a wealth of experience in the baseball and broadcasting industries. He served as the assistant radio broadcaster with the Double-A Portland Sea Dogs (Boston Red Sox) in 2008. Prior to that, he worked as a broadcaster with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Toronto Blue Jays) and provided play-by-play for college basketball, football, and hockey throughout the Northeast.

"The Hot Rods are proud to announce Tom Gauthier as the first broadcaster in team history," said Brad Taylor, team General Manager/CEO. "We expect Tom to bring a real credibility to our radio broadcasts while keeping it interesting and exciting for our fans."

Gauthier, a native of New Hampshire, will call every Hot Rods game beginning with the team's road opener April 9th in Hickory, NC. All 140 Hot Rods' games will be broadcast on 1340 WBGN, The Ticket and www.bghotrods.com. He will also serve as the team's Director of Media Relations, coordinating press coverage during the first season in Kentucky.

Opening Day in the Hot Rods' new, state-of-the-art baseball stadium is Friday, April 17, 2009 against the Kannapolis (NC) Intimidators, Class-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox.
