
Stingrays Receive Dubuc, Lacroix from Hershey

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays and Head Coach Jared Bednar announced today that forwards Michael Dubuc and Maxime Lacroix have been assigned to the team from the American Hockey League's Hershey Bears.
Dubuc, 20, is entering his first professional season after spending the last four years in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), where he collected 112 goals and 94 assists for 206 points in 231 games with Prince Edward Island and Rouyn-Noranda. A 6-foot-2, 177-pound left winger, Dubuc led Rouyn-Noranda in scoring the last two years and finished second in the league with 44 goals last season. The Granby, Quebec, native recently signed a two-year contract with Hershey and saw action in the Bears' regular season opener last Wednesday against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
Lacroix, 21, also played the last four years in the QMJHL, tallying 83 goals and 93 assists for 176 points in 254 contests with the Quebec Remparts. The 6-foot, 190-pound forward was a member of the Remparts' 2006 Memorial Cup Championship team, producing 12 points (7g, 5a) in 23 games. Following the conclusion of his junior career the Quebec City, Quebec, native signed with Hershey, registering a goal in two 2008 Calder Cup playoff contests. Originally, Lacroix was Washington's 5th round selection (127th overall) in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
