Vancouver Giants News Release
Vancouver BC - Casey Pierro-Zabotel scored once and set up three others as the Vancouver Giants continued their early season roll. This time, the Portland Winter Hawks were steamrolled 7-1 by the Giants at the Pacific Coliseum on Saturday night.
As has been the case this season, the Giants are getting it done by committee...seven different goal scorers lit the lamp for the G-Men. Jonathon Blum, Lance Bouma, Craig Schira, Andrej Kudrna, Jame Henry and Evander Kane with his team leading sixth goal also scored for Vancouver. Kane chipped in for two assists as well and has now potted 13 points (6G - 7A) to share the WHL scoring lead with Pierro-Zabotel, who also has 13 points (3G - 10A). Kane and Pierro-Zabotel have scored a point in every game so far this season for the Giants.
Jamie Tucker had another strong night in the nets for the Giants, as he stopped nineteen of twenty shots for the win. Tucker now has a goals against average of .98 through four starts this season and has a stellar save percentage of 95.7 percent.
You can join the Giants for their next game at the Rink on Renfrew as they will continue their five game home stand with a date against their BC Division rivals, the Kelowna Rockets. The game will be next Friday, October 10th, at 7:30 p.m. Fans can also listen to the game on Superhits 650 CISL and in the rink on 88.7 FM. Pregame show with Dave Sheldon and Steve Ewen will be at 7 p.m.
