Beloit Sky Carp News Release

Even though the Snappers missed the playoffs for the first time since being affiliated with the Minnesota Twins, they still enjoyed one of their most successful seasons, as a whole. One Snapper flirted with the .400 mark, birthday parties and season tickets were up and corporate sales were at an all-time high.

Ben Revere had what may turn out to be the most successful season in Snappers' history. The speedy outfielder ended up hitting .375 with 129 hits and 44 stolen bases while picking up the following awards:

- Midwest League MVP
- Midwest League Prospect of the Year
- Midwest League All-Star
- Midwest League Post-Season All-Star
- Best Batting Prospect (Baseball America)
- Best Strike Zone Judgment (Baseball America)
- Fastest Baserunner (Baseball America)
- Most Exciting Player (Baseball America)
- Topps Co-Midwest League Player of the Month (May)
- Minnesota Twins Minor League Player of the Month (May)
- Brodie Trophy Player of the Year

"Ben was unbelievable for us since the day he was brought up," said Director of Media and Community Relations/Marketing Erik VanDyck. "It seemed like every other day we had a different reporter or media outlet wanting to catch a glimpse of this kid, and he didn't disappoint. We definitely enjoyed having him and want to wish Ben, and the rest of the '08 Snappers, all the best in the future."

Snappers' birthday parties enjoyed quite the boost this year, increasing by more than 30% from the previous season. Fans were able to enjoy 10 game tickets, 10 hot dog and soda vouchers, 10 speed pitch vouchers, 10 Snappy gift shop dollars (each valuing $5), a team signed baseball, birthday cake, birthday announcement and a first pitch all for a low affordable price. Next year the prices will include:

- $175 for Box Seat packages

Season tickets were also at an all-time high last season. Being a season ticket holder allows you plenty of perks including discounts on Snappers Events throughout the season. Full-Season ticket holders are also guaranteed every Snappers giveaway, don't have to wait in ticket lines and receive a special invitation to the Full-Season ticket holder picnic.

"Birthday parties and season ticket sales continue to climb," said Director of Ticket Operations/Merchandise Matt Bosen. "I anticipate a continued increase in sales in 2009. Next year is shaping up to be a banner year for the group sales department."

The corporate sales department for the Snappers also enjoyed quite the increase last year. The staff recorded its most successful season in team history, a feat that was set the previous year.

"Our corporate sales continue to increase each and every year," said General Manager Jeff Vohs. "Last season was no different, as we reached an all-time high. We pride ourselves in offering options for every advertising budget imaginable. None of this would be possible, of course, without the incredible support from all of our sponsors."

Advertising with the Snappers is a very affordable and unique way to get the word out about your business. Pohlman Field offers numerous stadium signage options as well as many different sponsorships. Anyone interested in jumping on board with the Snappers is encouraged to contact a Snappers representative today!

The staff will most importantly be looking to make 2009 the best season yet! With the Player Development Contract with the Minnesota Twins signed for two more seasons, the Snappers are looking forward to calling Rock County home for many years to come.

"With all the buzz that a possible new stadium has received recently, it's an exciting time to be involved with the Snappers," Vohs said. "The increased interest can only benefit us and we look forward to being a part of the Stateline Area for a long time."
