
Snappers Announce '09 Home Schedule

For the first time since 2003, the Snappers will be opening up the regular season on the road. Beloit's first home game will not be played until Thursday, April 16th when they begin a four-game series with the defending Midwest League Champion Burlington Bees.
The Snappers will be home for 10 games in April, 16 in May, 10 in June, 15 in July, 16 in August and three in September. Game times are still to be determined.
Along with every other team in the Midwest League, the Snappers will play 70 games at home and 70 on the road. The 140-game schedule is split into two, 70-game halves beginning April 9th and running through September 7th. A full schedule can be found on www.snappersbaseball.com.
The Midwest League consists of 14 teams, eight in the Western Division and six in the Eastern Division. The Snappers (Minnesota Twins) play in the Western Division along with the Burlington Bees (Kansas City Royals), Cedar Rapids Kernels (Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim), Clinton LumberKings (Seattle Mariners), Kane County Cougars (Oakland Athletics), Peoria Chiefs (Chicago Cubs), Quad Cities River Bandits (St. Louis Cardinals) and the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (Milwaukee Brewers).
The six teams in the Eastern Division consist of the Dayton Dragons (Cincinnati Reds), Fort Wayne Wizards (San Diego Padres), Great Lakes Loons (Los Angeles Dodgers), Lansing Lugnuts (Toronto Blue Jays), South Bend Silver Hawks (Arizona Diamondbacks) and the West Michigan Whitecaps (Detroit Tigers).
This season's All-Star Game will be held at Alliant Energy Field in Clinton, Iowa, home of the Clinton LumberKings, on Tuesday, June 23rd.
