
Tropical Storm Fay rains out Mets and Cardinals

Port St. Lucie, FL - The August 20th Florida State League doubleheader between the St. Lucie Mets and Palm Beach Cardinals at Tradition Field has been postponed due to area floods, field damage, and the threat of continued inclement weather as a result of Tropical Storm Fay. The first game will be made up on Thursday, August 21st as part of a double header. Game one will begin at 5:00PM and the gates will open at 4:30PM. Game two will begin approximately one half hour after the conclusion of game one. Thursday is Dollar Night sponsored by Duffy's / The News / Tribune / Budweiser / Pepsi / WAVW 92.7 FM. Fans enjoy $1 - Hot Dogs, $1 - Pepsi and $1 - Budweiser throughout the game. Thursday is also Budweiser giveaway. All fans 21 and over will have a chance to win great prizes compliments of Southern Eagle Distributing and Budweiser.
Due to Major League Rule 32(b)(2) "Minor League Clubs shall not play more than three doubleheaders in a seven day period" the second game of the August 20th doubleheader will be moved from Tradition Field and made up at Roger Dean Stadium, home of the Palm Beach Cardinals, on August 26th as part of a doubleheader.
