Altoona Curve News Release
ALTOONA - The Altoona Curve are back at Blair County Ballpark after a 13-day hiatus to open a six-game hometsand from August 19-24. With only ten home Curve games remaining on the 2008 calendar, the six-game homestand will feature three-games each against the Portland Sea Dogs (Boston Red Sox) and the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Toronto Blue Jays). The homestand is sure to be the most exciting of the year to date, and as usual will feature plenty of fun-filled, family-friendly promotions.
The fun begins on Tuesday, August 19 at 7:05 p.m. against Portland. Highlighting the first three games of the homestand will be a spectacular post-game fireworks show and giveaways on each day.
Fans will take home the fourth edition of the Curve's Tenth Anniversary Photo Ball, featuring former Curve stars Nate McLouth and Jose Bautista, presented by Bellwood Hometown Market (Tuesday), an instant-classic Parney Bobblehead, courtesy of Sheetz (Wednesday), and a Tenth Anniversary Travel Mug, thanks to Forney Financial Solutions (Thursday).
Once the Fisher Cats come to town, the weekend is sure to be packed with even more fun. Friday will feature the second fireworks show of the homestand, presented by Penn State Altoona. On Saturday, Photo Ball No. 5, featuring Rob Mackowiak and Tom Gorzelanny will be given away, and the homestand will wrap with the third fireworks show, in conjunction with a soccer ball giveaway.
