Utah Flash Announce 2008-09 ScheduleAugust 13, 2008 - NBA Development League (D-League) Utah Flash
The Flash will also host the 2009 NBA D-League Showcase on Jan. 5-8. The annual Showcase is billed as the premier event for the NBA's minor league. All 16 NBADL teams will converge on the McKay Events Center for 16 games over four days.
"A normal Flash home season at the McKay Events Center is already a very affordable family fun experience," said Flash owner Brandt Andersen. "By hosting the Showcase our fans not only get two more Flash home games, but also have the opportunity to rub shoulders with NBA executives, general managers and scouts as the basketball world converges on Utah County to discover that next diamond in the rough."
The Flash schedule is highlighted by an eight-game homestand in March that begins with the defending league champion Idaho Stampede coming to Utah on Monday, March 9 for the first of three visits. Between March 9 and April 3 the Flash play 10 of 11 games at home, closing the season with 12 of 16 at McKay.
Fifteen home games are scheduled on either Friday or Saturday evenings and the Flash will host five Monday Family Nights, including the Dec. 1 home opener where the former Ringling Brothers and current Las Vegas high-flying acrobatic sensation group Russian Bar will perform at halftime.
In addition to numerous local performers, a sampling of additional halftime acts include one of the world's most astonishing magic stage and costume transformation acts, Quick Change, as well as the Bello Brothers, straight from Cirque du Soleil's production of Vareki and Las Vegas act Duo Design, which is coming off a run with Cirque du Soleil and the U.S. Broadway tour of "Cirque Ingenieux".
