August 4, 2008 - Canadian Football League (CFL) B.C. Lions

(Vancouver) The BC Lions Football Club announced today that they have added non import receiver Greg Hetherington to the team's practice roster.

Originally selected in the sixth round (46th overall) of the 2007 CFL Canadian Draft by the Calgary Stampeders, Hetherington spent the majority of the 2007 season on Calgary's practice roster making his CFL debut against the Toronto Argonauts last July.

His 14 career touchdown receptions rank him first all-time at McGill. He also holds the record for the fastest touchdown (30 seconds) in McGill history catching a 76-yard pass from Dave Campbell in 2003.

Other career highlights include a CIS Second-Team All-Canadian selection in 2006. Winning the Charlie Baillie Award for Most Outstanding Team Player in 2005 and 2006 as well as being selected as the Most Outstanding Offensive Player at McGill in 2006. Hetherington was also named to the CIS East-West Football All-star game in 2004 and 2006.
