Danville Otterbots News Release
DANVILLE, VA- The Danville Braves kick off an exciting six-game homestand on Saturday that will feature classic favorite promotions, as well as some events that will bring some new flair to Dan Daniel Memorial park.
On Saturday, July 26th, the D-Braves are pleased to announce "Mayberry Deputy Night." The Mayberry Deputy from the Andy Griffith Show will be here at Dan Daniel Park an hour before the game and will be signing autographs and taking pictures throughout the game. The Braves take on the Johnson City Cardinals. Gates open at 6 p.m. and first pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
On Sunday, July 27th, the D-Braves will take on Cards in game two of the series. After the game, kids will be able to run the bases just like their Braves' heroes in the weekly, "Sylvan Run the Bases Day" sponsored by Sylvan Learning Center. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m. and gates open at 3 p.m.
The D-Braves will be partying hard on Monday with Animal House Night, which will honor the 30 year anniversary of the comedy's release back on July 28, 1978. Throughout the game the D-Braves will be announcing Animal-House trivial facts, which should make for a pretty raucous environment. So put on your toga and head to the ballpark! Hot dogs are also being sold for just $1.00.
The division-leading Pulaski Mariners will be coming to town on July 30th- August 1 and Paul Runge and his contingent would sure like a large crowd to cheer on the D-Braves.
On Thursday, July 31st, the D-Braves will have "Thirsty Thursday" sponsored by Back to Bogie's, with discount fountain and draft drinks.
And finally on Friday, Aug. 1st don't miss a chance to win a trip to see the Atlanta Braves! Sponsored by AT&T Wirless, AT&T will be hosting a free T-Shirt Give-A-Way and fans can also win a chance to travel to Atlanta for two nights and watch the Atlanta Braves play!
