Drillers Home Against Cards June 20-23

The Tulsa Drillers will be home for a short, 4-game homestand against the Springfield Cardinals (St. Louis Cardinals) that will begin on Friday, June 20. The four-game stretch is the shortest homestand of the season and will run through Monday, June 23.

The first two games of the set will have starting times of 7:05PM. Game three on Sunday, June 22 will begin at 2:05PM, and the homestand finale on Monday, June 23 will start at 12:05PM.

The hometand will start with a bang as far as promotions, with a post-game Fireworks show following the opener on Friday. The game on Saturday will feature a pair of promotions in The ZOOperstars (pictured) and 50¢ Hot Dogs. Sunday will feature another Kids Eat Free Day and the final Youth Clinic of the year. Monday will be the final weekday, afternoon game of the season.

The stand will be the first home games of the second-half season for the Drillers, who finished in fourth place in the North Division during the first half.

Tulsa will be looking for its first win at home against the Cardinals this season. Springfield has swept a pair of four-game series at Drillers Stadium this year. For the season, the Drillers have won only 5 of 16 meetings with the Cards.

Tickets for all games in the homestand are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week over the Internet at TulsaDrillers.com. Tickets are also available in person at the Drillers Stadium Ticket Office or over the telephone by calling (918) 744-5901.

NOTES

A WEEK TO REMEMBER: Dexter Fowler was named the Texas League's Hitter of the Week on Monday. Fowler hit safely in all seven games during the week, going 15-31 for a .484 average.

IMPROVING NUMBERS: The Drillers' pitching staff has been last in the TL in team ERA for most of the season, but the staff's numbers have been improving in June. This month the team's pitchers combined for a 3.29 ERA in the first 14 games, allowing them to past Midland for 7th place in the league.

TAKE IT EASY: In their 16 prior meetings, Springfield has outscored Tulsa by over two runs per game. The Cards are averaging 7.4 runs scored in each of the 16 games compared to 5.2 for the Drillers.

ALL-STAR: Tulsa pitcher Casey Weathers has been added to the North Division All-Star Team that will play the South Division All-Stars in Springfield on June 25. Weathers is replacing Dusty Hughes who was promoted to Triple A from Northwest Arkansas.

SPECIAL EVENT: Drillers Stadium will be the site for the second annual Home Run For The Homeless event on Thursday, June 18. The celebrity softball game will benefit the Tulsa Day Center for the Homeless.

KIDS FEST / KIDS EAT FREE SUNDAY

It is another great Kids Eat Free Day courtesy of Borden Dairy, EOOC, the Tulsa World, Spirit 102.3 and Star 103! Kids, 14 and under, who enter with a paid admission will receive a coupon redeemable for a free hot dog, ice cream and milk. There will also be a face painter, a balloon artist and a cartoon artist, FREE for kids!

YOUTH CLINIC

All youth baseball and softball teams and players can obtain free admission for the game and a pre-game clinic and autograph session on the field with the Drillers players. The clinic will begin at 12:15 p.m. and is presented by the Eastern Oklahoma Orthopedic Center.

It's your last chance to enjoy a weekday, afternoon game this season as the Drillers and Cardinals play in the sunshine at Drillers Stadium, presented by Radio Disney 1380.
