
American Red Cross And Omaha Beef Launch "Bleed For The Beef" Blood Drive

Omaha, NE - The Omaha BEEF indoor football team has launched its "Bleed For The BEEF" campaign in coordination with the American Red Cross. The campaign, launched on April 5th, 2008, is aimed at increasing blood donations to the American Red Cross in the Omaha area. As of May 5, 2008, over 8,100 donations have been made to the campaign.
Omaha BEEF representative Joseph Mitchell commented on the program. "There has been a great response to the campaign up to this point. We hoped to make a real difference and the Omaha community has turned out and helped make this campaign a true success".
With the "Bleed For The BEEF" campaign continuing until May 31, 2008, Mitchell hopes that a goal of over 15,000 donations can be reached.
The Omaha BEEF have sponsored the "Bleed For The BEEF" campaign with a two-for-one ticket offer. Each blood donor with be given a pass to purchase two tickets for the price of one with a limit of four total tickets. The pass is good for any remaining BEEF home game.
Blood donations can be made to the American Red Cross by making an appointment at 1-800-GIVE-LIFE or log on to www.givebloodgivelife.org.
In order to donate blood, donors must meet the following qualifications: must be at least 17 years old (16 in Nebraska with a signed Red Cross parental/guardian consent form), weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in good health.
The Omaha BEEF opened their 2008 home season versus the Bloomington Extreme on March 15, 2008. All home games will be played at the Omaha Civic Auditorium. The BEEF are a member of the United Indoor Football Association, the premier indoor football league in America.
