Charlotte Knights News Release
FORT MILL, S.C. - May 11, 2008 - Charlotte used a four-run barrage of runs in the bottom of the 7th to break a 4-4 tie and then held off Toledo in a 10-6 victory over the Mud Hens. Knights OF Dewayne Wise hit two homers, going 3-4 on the day. He now has seven home runs on the season. Chris Getz, Brad Eldred and Jeff Liefer added home runs as well. Charlotte is second in the International League in home runs with 36 home runs on the season.
Adam Russell (2-0, 2.57) picked up his second win of the season coming in relief for starter Wes Whisler. Anastacio Martinez (0-1, 6.48) suffered his first loss of the season.
The Knights and Mud Hens conclude their series tomorrow at 7:15 PM. Tomo Ohka (0-6, 6.03) will start for Charlotte, Detroit Tigers pitcher Dontrelle Willis is scheduled to have a rehab start for Toledo and take the mound for the Mud Hens.
