Gary, Ind.- The defending Northern League champion Gary SouthShore RailCats have canceled today's exhibition game against Joliet due to rain.

The RailCats grounded the Schaumburg Flyers yesterday by beating them 8-2 behind grand slam off the bat of Rob Marconi in their 2008 exhibition opener.

They will be back in action on May 8 at Schaumburg with the first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m.

The RailCats begin defense of their 2007 Northern League title on May 15th when they host the JackHammers in the 2008 season opener. Call (219) 882-2255 for ticket information.
