(Jackson, TN)- The West Tenn Diamond Jaxx used solid pitching from Rich Dorman and timely hitting from Mike Saunders to defeat the Mississippi Braves 5-2 before a school day crowd of 4368 at Pringles Park. The win is the sixth win in a row for the Diamond Jaxx, who improve to 22-10 on the season. It's the second time this season that the Diamond Jaxx have won six games in a row.

Rich Dorman allowed two runs on seven hits in 7 2/3 innings of work to pick up the win, improving his record to 4-1 on the season. Mumba Rivera pitched a perfect ninth inning to nail down his fourth save of the season. Mike Saunders led the offense with three hits, two RBI's and two runs scored. One of those three hits was a home run, Saunders fourth homer of the season. Jeff Dominguez hit a solo home run while Mike Wilson and Jon Nelson drove in a run each to help lead the offense.

James Parr suffered the loss for the Braves, dropping his record to 1-3 on the season. Parr allowed four runs on seven hits with three walks and five strikeouts in five innings of work. Jason Perry and Mark Jurich hit solo home runs to account for Mississippi's runs.

The middle game of the five game series takes place on Wednesday night at 7:05 CDT. Left-hander Justin Thomas (1-2 3.72) gets the start for the Diamond Jaxx. Mississippi will counter with right-hander Todd Redmond (2-1 3.75).
