John Lackey to return to the Epicenter mound on Sunday

Angels' pitcher John Lackey is expected to make his third rehab start for the Quakes on Sunday May 4, as the Quakes will play host to the Lancaster JetHawks. Game time is 2:05 with gates opening at 1:05. The first 1,500 fans will receive a team photo courtesy of Red Roof Inn.

Out since March 21 with a strained right triceps Lackey has already made two starts for the Quakes. His first appearance in a Quakes uniform was on April 24 against the Bakersfield Blaze. Lackey threw 40 pitches over two innings striking out five with no walks allowed only one run on three hits.

In his second start he went three innings giving up one run while striking out two Lancaster JetHawks and allowing only one hit and one walk. In his two starts Lackey has a 3.60 ERA with seven strike outs in five innings. After a 18 minute delay at Clear Channel Stadium, due to a power failure, Lackey threw a simulated game in the bull pen totaling 26 pitches to bring his nightly total to 60.

In his third start Lackey is expected to throw up to 70 pitches.
