ALBANY, NY - The Albany River Rats announced today that Game Seven of their East Division Semifinals series with the Philadelphia Phantoms will be broadcast live on 88.3 FM The Saint. The River Rats also announced that the team will host a Game Seven Viewing Party at Broadway Joe's in the Times Union Center complex.
Catch all the action of Albany's second Game Seven in their 15-year history on Tuesday, April 29th at 7:05 pm from the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia. The broadcast begins with the River Rats Pre Game Show at 6:45 pm on 88.3 FM The Saint (WVCR-FM). Albany has a 1-0 record in Game Seven action, beating the Rochester Americans 6-2 in Game Seven of the 1997 Empire Division Finals on May 14th, 1997 at the Rochester War Memorial.
The River Rats are hosting a Game Seven Viewing Party at Broadway Joe's, located on the street level of the Times Union Center. The party will start at 6:30 pm and the team will broadcast the live b2 Networks feed featuring River Rats broadcaster Owen Newkirk with the play-by-play call from the Wachovia Center as Albany looks to advance to the second round of the Calder Cup Playoffs for the first time since 1998. After back-to-back overtime games, the East Division Semifinals is tied at three-games each and everything will be on the line for Game 7 on Tuesday, April 29th at 7:05 pm from the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia. The winner of the series will move on to face the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in the East Division Finals of the 2008 Calder Cup Playoffs.
