Colorado Eagles News Release
WINDSOR, Colo. - The Central Hockey League announced this evening that two Colorado Eagles players (Greg Pankewicz and Jay Birnie) have been suspended for three games each and that Colorado forward, Fraser Filipic, and both the Eagles and Texas Brahmas organizations have been fined an undisclosed amount for their roles in the Game Six, post-game melee on Monday night.
Monday night's game got out of hand after the final buzzer when some Colorado players took umbrage to the Brahmas' Chris Thompson shooting the puck into the Eagles' net - after time had expired - to rub in the win before skating around the rink in celebratory fashion; the ensuing confrontation grew into a bench-clearing brawl.
