The Peoria Chiefs defeated the West Michigan Whitecaps 2-1 in 11 innings in the final game of a three-game series Wednesday night at O'Brien Field. The Chiefs took two-of-three from the defending Midwest League Champions and finished the homestand 4-6, improving to 6-8 overall. Read More
Player of the Day - Nate Samson (2B): Samson picked up his first career home run in the bottom of the eleventh to win the game for the Chiefs. Samson went 2-for-3 and laid down two sacrifice bunts.
The Chiefs have the day off on Thursday before traveling to Midland, Michigan to take on Great Lakes Loons Friday at 6:05 PM CST. The Chiefs will send LH Zach Ashwood (0-2, 1.08) to the mound against LH Steven Johnson (0-2, 2.79) for the Loons.
