
Trader Joe's, Toyota Become Sparks "Champion Partners"

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Sparks have signed a multi-year "Champion Partner" sponsorship agreement with Trader Joe's neighborhood grocery stores and enhanced the existing multi-year agreement with Toyota Motor Corp. to the "Champion Partner" level, it was announced.
As a "Champion Partner" of the Sparks, the team's highest level of sponsorship, both companies will receive maximum exposure with the club which includes logo placement within multiple Sparks marketing elements both print and web and increased coverage during community events and programs.
A sponsor since 2004, Toyota's partnership includes media, STAPLES Center signage, print and tickets to Sparks home games. Toyota will also provide a car to be raffled during a Sparks' home game this season to benefit the March of Dimes.
Trader Joe's is new to the Sparks' sponsor family. Its partnership includes STAPLES Center signage, inclusion in the team's pocket schedule, special in-game contests, a Trader Joe's Night at a Sparks' home game at STAPLES Center, tickets and charitable involvement for Trader Joe's Hoops for Hunger program benefiting the LA Regional Foodbank.
"The Sparks are thrilled to continue our relationship with Toyota and we are delighted to have Trader Joe's join our sponsor family," said Sparks' co-owner Kathy Goodman. "Both companies are very community minded and fit perfectly with our philosophy."
The Sparks begin their 2008 WNBA regular season May 17 at the defending champion Phoenix Mercury. The game airs at 12:30 p.m. PT on ABC. The Sparks play their home opener at STAPLES Center on June 6 at 7:30 p.m. with a rematch against the Mercury.
