Midland, Mich.-Andrew Lambo's double to the gap in left-center field brought in Preston Mattingly from first base with the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Great Lakes Loons overcame a three-run deficit to defeat the Dayton Dragons 4-3 on Sunday afternoon. The Loons took three of four games from the Dragons in the series.

Dayton led 3-0 after five innings before Great Lakes scored once in the sixth, once in the eighth, and twice in the ninth for the win.

The winning rally against Dragons reliever Terrell Young (0-2) in the bottom of the ninth began with a base hit to left by Jovanny Rosario. Erik Kanaby's sacrifice moved Rosario to second, and Mattingly lined a single to right to tie the game at 3-3. Lambo then drilled a double to the fence in left-center to score Mattingly and end the game.

The Dragons took a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning when Brandon Waring singled and Mike McKennon followed with his first home run of the season. Dayton added one more in the fifth when Keltavious Jones singled with two outs, stole second, and scored on Todd Frazier's single to left.

Dayton starting pitcher Andrew Bowman tossed three scoreless innings but left the game after the third with a forearm injury. Jeremy Horst replaced Bowman and pitched scoreless frames in the fourth and fifth before yielding a run in the sixth on Lambo's RBI double to make it 3-1.

In the eighth, Young walked Alex Garabedian with one out and the bases loaded to force in a run and make it 3-2. Parker Dalton followed by grounding into an inning-ending double play to preserve the Dragons lead until the ninth.

The Dragons host the Fort Wayne Wizards at 7:00 p.m. on Monday in their 9th annual home opening night game at Fifth Third Field in Dayton. The game can be seen on Tim Warner Digital Channel 99 as Reds Hall-of-Fame pitcher Jim O'Toole will serve as the guest color commentator.
