Hens To Kick Off 2008 Season On Thursday, April 3rd

The three-time defending International League West champions will be back in town soon - Opening Day is Thursday, April 3 at 5:00 PM. From Thursday, April 3 to Sunday, April 6 at Fifth Third Field, the Toledo Mud Hens will officially celebrate their return with numerous activities and giveaways. Local children will be participating in many of the listed activities.

Here is a schedule of events for the Opening Weekend (schedule is subject to change)

Thursday, April 3-Opening Day with the first pitch at 5:00 PM versus the Durham Bulls. Gates open at 3:00 PM.

4:36 Fans will be treated to a 2007 season highlight video

4:38 Player introductions (both teams will be introduced & line up on base lines)

4:48 Ceremonial First Pitch (Tim Berta - Bluffton Baseball)

4:52 National Anthem & Fly Over (180th Fighter Wing)

-Fans will receive a 2008 Hens Magnetic Schedule upon exit (compliments of ABC Warehouse)

Friday, April 4-Opening Night with the first pitch at 7:00 PM versus the Durham Bulls. Gates open at 6:00 PM.

-Spring Cleaning Night (1st 500 fans receive a 2006 mini-pennant)

Sunday, April 6-"Kids Opening Day" - First pitch at 2:00 PM versus the Durham Bulls. Gates open at 1:00 PM.

-Raising of the IL West Division championship banner (pre-game)

-Pre-game autographs (2 players) from 1:15-1:45

-Meet Cartoon Network's Ben 10 - chance to win a Nintendo Wii!

-Face-painting and balloon twisting on the main concourse

-Applebee's Kids Run The Bases (post-game)

Monday, April 7 - First pitch at 6:30 PM versus the Charlotte Knights. Gates open at 5:30 PM.

-Spring Cleaning Night (1st 500 fans receive a 2005 replica Governors' Cup trophy)

Tuesday, April 8 - First pitch at 6:30 PM versus the Charlotte Knights. Gates open at 5:30 PM.

-Spring Cleaning Night (1st 500 fans receive a 2006 ceramic championship ring)

Wednesday, April 9 - First pitch at 6:30 PM versus the Charlotte Knights. Gates open at 5:30 PM.

-Spring Cleaning Night (1st 1,000 fans receive a 2006 All-Star tin)

Thursday, April 10 - First pitch at 6:30 PM versus the Charlotte Knights. Gates open at 5:30 PM.

-Spring Cleaning Night (1st 5,000 fans receive a school folder or 2007 team photo)
