Spikes To Unveil Biggest Promotional Schedule Yet

(STATE COLLEGE, PA) - The State College Spikes 2008 Promotional Schedule boasts the biggest list of promotions and events that Medlar Field at Lubrano Park has ever seen! The Spikes third season at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park will feature a wide array of new theme nights, an abundance of fan giveaways and a myriad of special group nights. The club begins their 2008 home schedule June 19th at 7:05 p.m. when the Spikes face off against the Jamestown Jammers.

"This year's promotional schedule really focuses on family entertainment," said Rick Janac, GM of the State College Spikes. "On a nightly basis, fans will find something for everyone in the family to enjoy. The in-game entertainment in 2008 will be bigger and better than ever before."

The Spikes have added 22 special ballpark events to spice up the 2008 Promotional Schedule. Events range from multiple Jersey-Off-The-Back Auctions to baseball clinics taught by Spikes players. In addition, the club has added a special weekly theme to every night of the week, giving fans the opportunity to experience something fun and different every day of the week.

Post-game firework shows will continue to be a staple in the 2008 Promotional Schedule. A total of 12 shows will take place over the course of the season, with the majority of them taking place on Fridays and all Sundays.

The theme nights featured in this year's promotional schedule vary from old favorites, such as Negro League Tribute Night and Bark in the Park to new and fun nights, such as the Going Green Environmental Series and Salute to the Mustache Night. The Spikes will host 29 total theme nights throughout the year, more than tripling the number of theme nights in 2007.

The Spikes will host a slew of entertainment appearances in 2008. The always-popular ZOOperstars will make an appearance at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park, along with some new faces to the stadium, such as Curious George.

The State College Spikes will release their complete 2008 Promotional Schedule in four parts throughout the remainder of the week. The release schedule is as follows:

- Tuesday, March 24: Post-game Firework Shows and Special Events Schedule

- Wednesday, March 25: Terrific Theme Nights and Special Group Nights Schedule

- Thursday, March 26: Fan Giveaway Schedule

- Friday, March 27: Entertainment Appearances and Weekly Promotions Schedule

Single-game tickets for the Spikes' 2008 season will go on sale to the general public this Saturday, March 29th, beginning at 9 a.m. through the Spikes Ticket Office and on-line at www.statecollegespikes.com. To mark the first day of individual ticket sales, the Spikes will hold their annual TicketPalooza event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. This free event, which will be held at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park, features samples from the 2008 Spikes menu, ballpark tours, on-field games and National Anthem Tryouts for the 2008 Spikes season.
