Inland Empire 66ers News Release
San Bernardino, CA - The game of baseball is known for its rich tradition. For more than a decade now, there has been a baseball tradition taking place in San Bernardino weeks before the 66ers fly in from spring training. High schools from throughout the Inland Empire have been battling for bragging rights at Arrowhead Credit Union Park since 1997. After last season's smashing success, County Clash will be back for its first installment on March 15.
There will be six local high schools participating in the event:
Game 1: Colton vs. Cajon at 1 p.m.
Game 2: Redlands East Valley vs. Fontana at 4 p.m.
Game 3: AB Miller vs. Yucaipa at 7 p.m.
Yucaipa High School has been a long time proponent of County Clash at Arrowhead Credit Union Park. "This is a great avenue to help showcase the talent in the Inland Empire," said Yucaipa Head Coach Jeff Stout. He continued, "It's great to use a professional facility to assist in the fundraising for all the schools involved."
66ers Vice President and Assistant General Manager Paul Stiritz has been in charge of the event since 1999. "County Clash is important for the 66ers as a dress rehearsal for the season, to promote the stadium and to show people who may not have been here before what we have to offer."
Tickets for the event can be purchased for just $4. Parking at the ballpark will be available for only $3.
To order tickets or for more information, call the Inland Empire 66ers box office at (909) 888-9922 or on the web at www.sixtysixers.com. You can also purchase tickets through the schools themselves. The 66ers get back into the swing of things on April 3rd as they open up against the Visalia Oaks. Season tickets are on sale now and start at as little as $30.
