Loons, Tri-City Brewing to Release Loons Summer AleMarch 10, 2008 - Midwest League (MWL) Great Lakes Loons
This season, the Loons have added an additional beer option with a familiar name. In cooperation with Tri-City Brewing Company of Bay City, the Loons have lent their name to a new ballpark option to compliment the already popular Phoenix Golden Ale.
It's called Loons Summer Ale, and the Loons and Tri-City Brewing will be hosting a launch party to formally introduce the new beverage on March 27 at the Kingfish Restaurant, 1019 North Water Street in Bay City.
The event will be held from 5:30 until 8:00pm. Plenty of the new brew will be available for sampling for those 21 years of age and older.
Loons Summer Ale is a balanced ale with a light, clean taste and a unique orange aroma providing a refreshing, thirst quenching finish.
"It's a beer anyone would like," said Kevin Peil, president of Tri-City Brewing. "It's very smooth and drinkable, the perfect beer for watching a baseball game."
The new Loons' Summer Ale will be available at Dow Diamond during games at two locations. The Loons will also continue serving Tri-City's popular Phoenix Golden Ale. Beer prices during the season remain $5.00 for both of Tri-City's ales in a 24 oz. souvenir All-Star Game cup.
The first chance to sample Loons' Summer Ale at a Loons game will be the team's April 3 opener versus Dayton. Tickets are available for opening weekend by visiting Loons.com or calling 989-837-BALL.
The Great Lakes Loons are the second-year Single-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers and members of the Midwest League. For more information about the Loons, visit Loons.com or call 989-837-BALL.
