Mark Johnson to be guest speaker at USHL All-Star Banquet

Green Bay (December 4, 2007) - Mark Johnson, Head Coach of the University of Wisconsin women's hockey team and member of the 1980 U.S. Olympic Men's hockey team (Miracle On Ice), will be the guest speaker for the USHL All-Star banquet on Monday, January 28, 2008 at Shopko Hall. The banquet will consist of a 6 pm social hour, 7 pm dinner and 8 pm program. The Green Bay Gamblers will host the USHL All-Star game the following evening on Tuesday, January 29 at the Resch Center at 7 pm.

In addition to his successful coaching career at Wisconsin, Mark Johnson led the 1980 Olympic team's gold medal-winning effort with 11 points, including 2 goals in the "Miracle On Ice" against the Soviet Union and an assist on the game-winning goal against Finland in the gold medal game.

Live and silent auctions will be held throughout the night at the banquet. The Cornerstone Ice Center - Phase II project will benefit from the auctions. Auction items include two signed Mark Johnson 1980 vintage jerseys, Brett Favre autographed helmet, Mike McCarthy autographed football, Gamblers jersey signed by Keith Urban and a Gamblers jersey signed by Sugarland.
