
Griffins Sign Jon Insana

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League on Thursday announced the signing of defenseman Jon Insana.
Insana, 27, enters his fourth season with the club, having become a regular on the Griffins' blue line in 2006-07. In 44 games with Grand Rapids, the Mt. Clemens, Mich., native notched six points (3-3-6) and accumulated 22 penalty minutes, while also logging 18 games with the UHL's Muskegon Fury.
Insana made his Griffins' debut by appearing in eight games during the 2004-05 campaign, and he has logged 60 games and 10 points (4-6-10) in his Grand Rapids career.
Prior to turning pro in 2002, Insana spent four years at Michigan State, where he helped the Spartans capture back-to-back CCHA tournament titles in 2000 and 2001.
