BURLINGTON, VT --- The Vermont Lake Monsters and SUBWAY restaurants are giving one lucky person the chance to be a Lake Monsters "Player-for-a-Day" with their Grand Slam Getaway promotion.

The Lake Monsters "Player-for-a-Day" Grand Prize winner will have the opportunity to experience what it's like to be a professional baseball player for a day on September 1st when Vermont hosts the Lowell Spinners at historic Centennial Field at 7:05 p.m. The winner will have the chance to dress, take batting practice, shag fly balls, throw out the first pitch, sit in the dugout during the game and receive a player's daily player development contract salary, and much more.

"A lot of people have dreamed of being a professional athlete, but not everyone has been given that opportunity. Now, for one day, for one lucky winner, this dream will come true, " said Assistant General Manager, Nate Cloutier. "This will be a very special, up close and personal experience for the Grand Slam Getaway winner."

This Grand Slam Getaway winner will also receive four tickets to see a future 2007 Boston Red Sox game at Fenway Park, including hotel accommodations in Boston and a $50 Gas Card.

Eight Prize winners will be selected on or around August 20th for the chance to win the Grand Prize. Each of the eight prize winners will receive four tickets to the September 1st Lake Monsters game, hotel accommodations in Burlington, free meals from SUBWAY restaurants, $50 Gas card and a Lake Monsters merchandise prize package.

The eight prize winners will be drawn on or about August 20th.
