Quakes OF Chris Pettit named Angels Organizational Player of the Month for July

Rancho Cucamonga, CA- Rancho Cucamonga Quakes OF Chris Pettit was named as the Angels Organizational Player of the Month for July. A 22-year old San Dimas resident, Pettit hit .383 in July with eight home runs and 37 RBI in 115 at-bats. Pettit also scored 30 runs and stole nine bases in ten attempts. Overall in 184 at-bats, Pettit is batting .353 with nine homers and 47 RBI with the Quakes after batting .346 with nine homers and 41 RBI for the Low-A Cedar Rapids Kernels (Midwest League) the first part of the season.

This will be the second time Pettit has won monthly honors from the Angels this season; he also was named as Organizational Player of the Month in May.

Michael Anton from the rookie-level Tempe Angels was named pitcher of the month. The 22-year old southpaw went 4-1 with a 2.73 ERA in seven starts

Triple-A Salt Lake outfielder Terry Evans was named Angels' Defensive Player of the Month for July. The 25-year old native of Dublin, GA did not commit an error in 27 games during July. Evans has only one error on the season.
