
RoughRiders' Mihalek Commits to Cornell

Cedar Rapids, Iowa- Cedar Rapids RoughRiders forward Vince Mihalek has committed to Cornell University, the RoughRiders announced today. The 2007-08 season will be Mihalek's first with the RoughRiders.
The Riders selected Mihalek, 17, in the fourth round of May's United States Hockey League draft with the forty-third overall choice. The Willowick, Ohio, native played prep school hockey for Gilmour Academy in Gates Hills, Ohio, last season.
Last season Cornell (14-13-4 overall, 10-8-4 conference) finished tied for fourth in the ECAC Hockey League.
Mihalek joins Derek Arnold (Maine), David Boehm (Massachusetts), Paul Phillips (Denver), Ian Slater (Western Michigan) and Matt Tomassoni (Miami of Ohio) as the latest 2007-08 RoughRider to make a college commitment.
The RoughRiders will open their ninth season in Cedar Rapids this fall. 2007-08 season tickets are currently available through the RoughRiders' business office (319-247-0340). Fans who pay for season tickets in full before August 15 will receive a significant discount in addition to a host of other benefits available exclusively to season ticket holders.
