Wehrs had four points on the week and was +1 in three games. He had three assists, including setting up the game winner on Friday and added another assist in Saturday s loss. Runner-Up: Jake Marto of Omaha (3 GP, 1-1-2, GWG, +2, 12 SOG)

Avramenko went 1-1-0 on the week and finished with a 3.00 GAA. He set a leaguehigh with 70 saves in a 5-2 win over Sioux City and finished the week with a saves percentage of .942. Runner-Up: Matt Lundin of Sioux Falls (3 GP, 3-0-0, 1.66, .946)

Lotsa Shots: Sioux City set the league record for shots in a period with 36 against Green Bay on Friday. They bettered the previous record (set by themselves against Thunder Bay in 1986) by one...Who s The New Guy: Justin Greene will make his USHL officiating debut April 13 - a week after playing in the NCAA Frozen Four with Boston College...Power Plays: USHL teams average 16.7% on the power play. Des Moines tops the chart at 22.1%...And Then There Were Six: Six teams can still win the Anderson Cup, with Omaha holding a five-point advantage heading into the final two weeks...There s No Place Like Home: Omaha, Waterloo and Cedar Rapids all have current home winning streaks of at least seven games.
USHL NOTEBOOK
Cedar Rapids: Jacob Cepis broke an eight-game goal drought and regained the league goal scoring lead with a goal in a 7-4 win over Waterloo. He leads the league with 31 goals on the season.
Chicago: Richard Manley, a late season pickup by the Steel, scored a pair of goals in a 5-2 win over Ohio Friday. Three other players - Andy Miele, Tyler Murovich and Tim Buttery - also had two points in the game.
Des Moines: Taylor Matson scored his first USHL goal in Tuesday s 6-2 win over Tri-City. Mike Dorr scored for the first time since returning from his high school team, netting a pair in a 5-1 win over Lincoln on Saturday.
Green Bay: Adam Avramenko made 70 saves, a league-high this season, in a 5-2 win over Sioux City on Friday. He made 35 saves in the first period and had 55 saves through the first two periods.
Indiana: Eric Miller scored three of the Ice s five goals on the weekend. He scored both goals in a 7-2 loss on Friday and had another in a 4-3 loss Saturday, both at Tri-City.
Lincoln: The Stars went 0-2 on the weekend and scored just two goals in the process even though they outshot their opponents 82-51 in the two games. Danny Baco and Jared Brown scored the two goals.
Ohio: Alexei Dostoinov and Dennis Urban had a goal and assist each in a 3-2 win over Chicago. Clark MacLean scored one of Ohio s goals in a 5-2 loss Friday, giving him five on the season. Four of his five goals have come since January 1.
Omaha: Brett Bruneteau had a five-game scoring streak, where he scored 2-4-6, snapped in Saturday s win over Green Bay. He has now doubled his offensive output from last season.
Sioux City: The Musketeers outshot Green Bay 72-18 Friday but lost 5-2. Every skater except Danny Wurden had at least one shot on goal. Six players had at least seven shots on net. Kevin Lohry led the way with eight shots on goal.
Sioux Falls: David Solway scored his first career hat trick in a 6-1 win over Lincoln on Friday. Corey Tropp also had three points in the game, his eighth three-point effort of the year.
Tri-City: Patrick White scored a pair of goals in Friday s 7-2 win over Indiana. He then scored the game winning goal the next night in a 4-3 win over the Ice. White has scored 3-1-4 in four games since returning from his high school team.
Waterloo: Blake Kessel had back-to-back multi-point games this weekend. He had two assists in Friday s 7-4 loss to Cedar Rapids and a goal and an assist in Saturday s 5-3 win over the RoughRiders.
NCAA ALUMNI NEWS
Ted Purcell (Cedar Rapids) was named Rookie of the Year by Inside College Hockey. Read more at www.insidecollegehockey. com.
Eric Ehn (Green Bay) is one of three finalists for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award, to be awarded April 6.
Former USHL coaches Dave Hakstol (Sioux City) and Bob Motzko (North Iowa/Sioux Falls) have been named finalists for the Spencer Penrose Award, given annually to the man named Coach of the Year in NCAA Division I hockey.
T.J. Fox (Chicago), Trevor Smith (Omaha), Joe Piskula (Des Moines), Ryan Dingle (Tri-City) and Steve Wagner (Tri-City) are among the NCAA Division I college players that have left school early and signed NHL contracts. Smith and Fox have foregone their final two years while Piskula, Dingle and Wagner gave up one year.
PROFESSIONAL ALUMNI NEWS
Brad Williamson (Thunder Bay) of the Colorado Eagles was named the Central Hockey League s Most Outstanding Defenseman for 2006-07.
Dan Ellis (Omaha) made 27 saves for his fourth shutout of the season as the Iowa Stars beat Manitoba 1-0 Sunday.
Nate Guenin (Green Bay) picked up his first two career NHL points, both assists, as well as a career high in ice time with 13:51, in a 6-4 loss to the New York Rangers March 31.
Marty Magers (Omaha) was named the UHL Goalie of the Week last week.
Tom Gilbert (Chicago) has four points (all assists) and is averaging well over 20 minutes of ice time, including 29:26 in his last outing, in his last five games for Edmonton.
