Staff Promotions Announced for Las Vegas 51s Baseball Front Office

LAS VEGAS: The Las Vegas 51s professional baseball team of the Pacific Coast League (PCL), Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers, have made several front office staff promotions that were announced today by 51s President & General Manager Don Logan.

The team's front office promotions include: Mike Hollister, Vice President/Sales & Marketing; Chuck Johnson, Assistant General Manager/Vice President of Marketing; Mike Rodriguez, Vice President/Ticket Operations and Allen Taylor, Executive Vice President/Finance.

"These guys did a great job in promoting professional baseball here in Southern Nevada," Don Logan said. "We wanted to reward them accordingly for their efforts. They were all instrumental in us having one of the top seasons in attendance since the franchise began 24 years ago in 1983. They will all have integral parts of making this bigger and better in the future for the Las Vegas 51s organization."

Las Vegas enjoyed a successful season at the box office in 2006. The 51s attendance was 365,659 for an average of 5,079 in 72 dates. The franchise reached the 300,000 plateau in "home" attendance for the 24th consecutive season (1983-2006). The attendance total was the most since Las Vegas began its affiliation with the Dodgers in 2001 and the total was the highest since the 1993 season and fourth largest in franchise history at Cashman Field. The grand total attendance in 2006 that included Big League Weekend (33,025 in three games) was 398,684. The 51s compiled a record 67-77 (.465) and finished in third place in the PCL's Pacific Southern Division.

Hollister has been a member of the Las Vegas franchise for nine years. In 1999, he worked in sponsorship sales and, in 2000, served as the Marketing Services Manager in the sponsorship sales department. In 2003, he was named the Director of Corporate Sponsorships. He began his career with the Las Vegas Stars and Thunder hockey team as an intern in 1998. MJ and his wife, Stephanie, have a two-year-old daughter, Riley.

Johnson was hired as an Account Executive with the Stars and Thunder in 1995. He was also the Director of Corporate Sponsorships and Director of Communications for the baseball team until 2001. He also worked for R&R Partners and, in 2003, assisted the Las Vegas Gladiators of the Arena Football League (AFL) with their sponsorship sales. He returned to the 51s organization in 2004 as the Director of Marketing. He and his wife, Andrea, have been married for five years.

Rodriguez has served as the Director of Ticket Operations with the 51s organization over the past five years. He worked in Major League Baseball for 12 years (1989-2001) with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He served as the ticket manager for the Dodgers from 1997-2001.

Taylor joined the organization at the start of the 1996 campaign with the Las Vegas Stars and Thunder. He will begin his 12th season with the franchise that will also begin the 25th PCL Season in 2007. Taylor, a 32° Mason, is very active in the fraternity of Free and Accepted Masons of Nevada. He is completing the first year of a two year appointment to the Grand Lodge of Nevada. He and his wife, Debra, recently celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary on Oct. 11.
