
Logan Koopmans, Ken Magowan Re-join the Storm

(Toledo, Ohio) The Toledo Storm, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks, announced today that they have added forward Ken Magowan for the 2006-07 season.
"Koopmans got to see some time with us last year and the year before," said Head Coach and Director of Player Personnel, "Logan battled through an injury filled season last year, however played very well in the playoffs."
Koopmans appeared in 12 regular season games with the Storm last year, posting a 2.93 goals against average (GAA) and compiling a 7-2-2 record. He also played in 7 games during the postseason, going 2-5 with a 3.87 GAA and a 89.5% save percentage. He also saw action during the 2004-05 campaign. In last year's postseason, the Detroit Red Wings fifth round selection made 54 saves in a game two overtime win versus the Gwinnett Gladiators.
"Magowan was terrific for us last year, and it showed when he spent some time in the American League," said Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Nick Vitucci. "We're extremely excited to have a guy of his talent level back for another year."
Magowan was one of Toledo's most dangerous players offensively last season, netting 27 goals and adding 30 assists during the regular season. In late November, Magowan was signed to a Player Tryout Agreement (PTO) with the Philadelphia Phantoms of the American Hockey League (AHL), where he skated in four games before returning to the Storm just after Thanksgiving. Just a week later, he signed another PTO with the AHL's Rochester Americans, where he spent two games and collected one assist. Once he returned to the Storm on December 6th, he was here to stay, on his way to playing 68 regular season games and 12 postseason contests. In the playoffs, Magowan recorded 4 points (2 G, 2 A) with 24 PIM.

Sports Arena when the Storm take on the archrival Dayton Bombers at 7:35.
